📋 Overview

These 3mm Red LEDs (620–630nm) put out a bright 8,000–10,000 mcd through a clear transparent lens — perfect for indicators, flashlights, decorative lighting, and status displays. With a wide 30° viewing angle and standard 20mA drive current, they're an easy drop-in upgrade for any breadboard or through-hole PCB project, whether you're just getting started with electronics or building out a full production run.

⭐ Key Features

  • Bright 8,000–10,000 mcd luminous intensity
  • True red emitting color (620–630nm)
  • Wide 30° viewing angle (50% power angle) for even light spread
  • Water clear (transparent) lens package
  • Standard 2.54mm pin spacing — fits breadboards and perfboard directly
  • Low forward voltage (2.0–2.2V) and current draw (20mA) for efficient, long-lasting use
  • Available in convenient 10, 25, 50, and 100-piece packs

💡 Tips

Always use a current-limiting resistor with this LED — running it directly off a supply voltage above 2.2V without one can burn it out almost instantly. Since red LEDs have a lower forward voltage than other colors, double-check your resistor calculation if you're mixing this LED into a string with other colors. For a typical 5V supply, a 150–180Ω resistor works well at 20mA.

Want to skip the resistor math entirely? Check out our 20mA LED Driver. It eliminates the need for current-limiting resistors and lets you drive a single LED or a series string of LEDs at various drive voltages.
