📋 Overview

This compact DC-DC step-down (buck) converter module converts a DC input voltage of 6V to 24V down to a fixed, regulated 5V USB output at up to 2A continuous current. Using synchronous rectification, it achieves efficiency up to 97.5% — far superior to linear regulators — while generating minimal heat.

Simply solder your input power wires to the board, plug in a USB cable, and you have a tiny, reliable 5V USB power source. It's ideal for charging phones, tablets, and other USB devices from a 12V car battery, solar panel, or any other 6V–24V DC source. Built-in protections for reverse polarity, overvoltage, overcurrent, and short circuit ensure safe, worry-free operation.

⚠️ Important: This is a step-down (buck) converter only. Input voltage must be between 6V and 24V DC. With input voltage below 10V, the maximum output current is limited to approximately 1A. Always observe correct polarity when wiring.

⭐ Key Features & Benefits

  • Fixed 5V USB Output — Provides a stable, regulated 5.0–5.2V output through a standard USB-A connector. No adjustment needed — just wire it up and plug in your device.
  • Up to 2A Continuous Output — Enough current to charge most smartphones, tablets, and USB-powered devices (with input voltage above 10V).
  • Wide Input Range (6V–24V DC) — Works with car and motorcycle batteries (12V), solar panels, battery packs, bench power supplies, and other DC sources.
  • Ultra-High Efficiency (up to 97.5%) — Synchronous rectification design wastes very little energy as heat, making it ideal for battery-powered applications.
  • Ultra-Compact Size — At just 26 × 14 × 8 mm, this module is small enough to embed inside enclosures, dashboards, or project housings.
  • Comprehensive Protection — Input reverse polarity protection (diode), 300W TVS output overvoltage clamp, and output short-circuit protection.
  • Low Output Ripple (10mV) — Clean, stable power suitable for sensitive electronics like microcontrollers and sensors.
  • Red LED Power Indicator — Confirms the module is powered and producing output.
  • Industrial Temperature Range — Rated for operation from −40°C to +85°C.

🎯 Ideal Applications

  • Car, motorcycle, boat, or RV USB charger — charge phones, tablets, and dashcams from a 12V or 24V battery
  • Solar-powered USB charger for off-grid and camping use
  • Powering Arduino, ESP8266, Raspberry Pi, or other USB-powered microcontrollers from a higher-voltage battery
  • Portable battery pack projects requiring a stable 5V USB output
  • Embedded USB charging port inside enclosures, dashboards, or equipment
  • Wind or hydro generator USB output conversion
  • Replacing inefficient linear regulators in 5V USB power applications

📦 What's in the Box

  • 1× 6-24V to 5V USB 2A DC-DC Buck Converter Module

Note: Input power source, input wiring, USB cable, and solder are not included. Soldering is required to connect input power wires to the module's solder pads.

⚠️ Important Notes

  • Input voltage: 6V–24V DC only — Do not exceed 24V input. Do not connect to AC mains power.
  • Current limited below 10V input — With input voltage below 10V, the maximum output current is approximately 1A, not 2A. Use an input voltage of 10V or higher for full 2A output.
  • Soldering required — The input connections are solder pads, not screw terminals. A soldering iron is needed to connect your input wires.
  • Do not leave output short-circuited — While the module has short-circuit protection, it is designed for brief accidental shorts only. A sustained short can damage the module.
  • Heat management at high current — At input voltages above 12V with 2A continuous output, add heatsinking or forced-air cooling to prevent overheating.
  • Not a fast charger — This module provides standard 5V USB power at up to 2A. It does not support USB Quick Charge, USB-PD, or other fast-charging protocols.
  • Fixed output voltage — The output is fixed at 5.0–5.2V and is not adjustable.
  • Observe polarity — While the module has reverse polarity protection, always wire positive to + and negative to − for proper operation.
