The SystemBase Multi-8/LPCIe PCI Express 8-Port Serial Communication Card with DB9 Female connectors is equipped with SystemBase’s powerful semiconductor, SB16C1058PCI and PCIe to PCI bridge chip to deliver speed and performance up to 921.6kbps with 256 bytes FIFO to prevent overrun errors. Combine that with the need for fewer components and you get cost-effective and reliable connections to your serial devices.

The Multi-port boards support Windows and Linux operating systems and includes 15,000-volt surge suppression. The Multi-8/LPCIe can be attached to 8-port panels with DE-09 (DB-9) connectors that are available in two models, RS232 and RS422/RS485. These boards are ideal for POS, hospital, factory automation, building automation, and many other applications.

Connector Panel

The Multi-8/LPCIe consists of a low-profile communication card and connector panel supporting RS232 or RS422/RS485. The connector panel has 8 DE-09S (DB-9 female) connectors to protect against the pins being electrically shorted. LEDs next to each connector provide visual communication status of the ports. It is constructed of aluminum and is suitable for industrial environments.

Slew-Rate Limit Control

The Multi-8/LPCIe is equipped with Slew Rate Limit Control and when enabled, it minimizes EMI emissions which may cause data transmission errors. When Slew Rate is used maximum communication speed is 250Kbps. This function is recommended in many medical applications.
