📋 Overview
This PL-259 UHF male plug to TNC female RF adapter lets you connect an SO-239 (UHF female) jack to a TNC male plug or cable end. It's a straight barrel-style adapter with a UHF male plug on one end and a TNC female jack on the other, so it joins two connectors that would otherwise never mate.
It has a nickel-plated brass body, a teflon (PTFE) insulator and gold-plated copper center contacts. It's a handy fit for SDR, HAM, GMRS and commercial radio setups, antenna jumpers and 50 Ohm coax runs.
⭐ Key Features & Benefits
- UHF Male to TNC Female — PL-259 (UHF male) plug on one end and TNC female jack on the other, so it connects an SO-239 female jack to a TNC male plug
- Nickel-Plated Brass Body — Tough, corrosion-resistant housing that holds up to repeated connecting and disconnecting
- Gold-Plated Copper Center Contacts — Gold plating resists oxidation and helps keep the signal connection clean and reliable
- Teflon Insulator — Rigid, stable dielectric that holds the center contact in position in both connectors
- 50 Ohm Impedance — Matches standard 50 Ohm coax cable and radio equipment
- Threaded Connections — Both ends screw together for a secure fit that won't pop off, unlike push-on or bayonet styles

📦 What's in the Box
- 1× PL-259 UHF Male Plug to TNC Female Jack RF Adapter
📝 Note: Coax cables, plugs and radios are not included. This adapter has a UHF male plug on one end and a TNC female jack on the other, so check that your two connectors are an SO-239 (UHF) female jack and a TNC male plug.
🔌 Compatible With
- SO-239 UHF female jacks, including common SDR and HAM radio, antenna and SWR meter connections
- TNC male plugs on antennas, radios, jumpers and coax cables
- 50 Ohm coax cable and RF systems
- Equipment with a TNC male connector that needs to connect to UHF (SO-239) equipment or cabling
🎯 Common Applications
- SDR & HAM Radio — Connect a radio or antenna with an SO-239 jack to a TNC-terminated cable or antenna
- Antenna Systems — Mix and match antennas, jumpers and feedlines with different connector types
- Communication Systems — Bridge UHF and TNC connectors in two-way radio and other RF setups
- Audio & Video Transmission — Join coax cables and equipment that use different connector types
- Security & Data Signal Transmission — Adapt cabling for equipment that uses TNC connectors
🚀 Getting Started
Using the adapter takes about a minute and needs no tools:
- Confirm that your connectors are an SO-239 (UHF) female jack and a TNC male plug.
- Thread the PL-259 end of the adapter onto the SO-239 jack until it is snug.
- Thread the TNC male plug onto the TNC female end of the adapter.
- Tighten both connections by hand. Don't use pliers on the knurled coupling nuts, which can damage the plating and threads.
💡 Tip: TNC and BNC connectors look similar and are both 50 Ohm, but TNC uses a threaded coupling and BNC uses a quarter-turn bayonet lock. If your plug twists on and locks with a quarter turn, you need a BNC adapter instead.
