📋 Overview

The VT Series PWM Solar Charge Controllers are a heavy-duty upgrade for off-grid solar systems, regulating power between your solar array and battery bank to protect against overcharging. Unlike our standard-line controllers, the VT Series charges both lead-acid (Gel, Sealed, Flooded) and lithium (LiFePO4, LiConMnNiO2) batteries with user-defined parameter support, accepts up to 100V of solar input, and is built with a larger housing and heavier terminals for demanding installations. Choose from three current ratings — 30A, 40A, or 60A — to match your system size.

⭐ Key Features & Benefits

  • Dual Battery Chemistry Support — Charges lead-acid batteries (Gel, Sealed, Flooded) and lithium batteries (LiFePO4, LiConMnNiO2), with user-defined charging parameters for both.
  • Wide Voltage Compatibility — Supports 12V, 24V, 36V, and 48V battery banks. 12V, 24V, and 48V are auto-detected; 36V systems are set manually.
  • High Input Voltage — Accepts solar array input up to 100V open-circuit voltage, so you can wire more panels in series.
  • Backlit LCD Display — Easy-to-read status and settings screen, even in low light.
  • Quad USB Charging Ports — 4× USB outputs at 5V/2A each (2 per side) for charging phones, tablets, and other devices directly from the controller.
  • Rugged Mounting — Metal mounting lugs on both sides for secure wall or cabinet installation.
  • Heavy-Duty Terminals — 6 large-aperture terminal blocks with wider spacing accept thicker cable (6AWG for 30A/40A models, 4AWG for 60A model) for high-current wiring.
  • Superior Heat Dissipation — Larger housing and bigger heat sink keep the controller stable under extended full-load operation in high heat.

🚀 Getting Started

Setting up the VT Series controller is straightforward:

  1. Connect the battery to the controller first, and confirm the LCD display turns on.
  2. Connect your load (lights, devices, etc.).
  3. Connect the solar panel last.
  4. Set the system voltage and battery type to match your battery bank.

💡 Tip: See our complete User Guide tab for the full connection sequence, battery/voltage setup instructions, model comparison, and troubleshooting tips.

⚠️ Important Notes

  • The battery must always be connected first, before the load or solar panel — connecting a live solar panel to an unpowered controller can permanently damage it.
  • 36V system voltage is not auto-detected and must be set manually.
  • Lithium battery types must be manually configured — set the system voltage first, then select the matching lithium battery type.
