📋 Overview
This PWM DC Motor Speed Controller lets you smoothly regulate the speed of a brushed DC motor from a complete stop to full speed. It uses Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) — rapidly switching the power on and off at 15 kHz — to control the average power delivered to the motor. The result is smooth, quiet, stepless speed control with no audible motor whine.
The controller accepts a wide input voltage range of 6V to 90V DC and can deliver up to 15A continuous current (1000W maximum). Speed is adjusted using the included panel-mount potentiometer (0%–100% duty cycle), or you can replace it with a 0–5V analog signal for automated or remote control. A user-replaceable 15A board-mounted fuse protects against overcurrent and short circuits.
⚠️ Important: This controller works with brushed DC motors only. It is not compatible with AC motors or brushless (BLDC) motors, which require a dedicated ESC (Electronic Speed Controller). Do not exceed 90V DC input.

🎯 Typical Applications
- Brushed DC motor speed control — fans, pumps, conveyor belts, power tools, robotics
- High-power LED dimming (within voltage and current limits)
- Resistive heater control
- Solenoid and linear actuator proportional control
- Test bench variable-speed motor testing
- Automated systems — CNC, 3D printers, PLC-controlled equipment (using 0–5V analog input)
🚀 Getting Started
- Turn the potentiometer fully counter-clockwise (minimum speed / 0% duty cycle) before connecting power
- Connect your DC power supply (6V–90V) to the Power terminals — match polarity: positive to positive, negative to negative
- Connect your brushed DC motor to the Motor terminals — match polarity
- Apply power to the supply
- Slowly turn the potentiometer clockwise to increase motor speed
💡 Tip: See our complete User Guide (link below) for detailed wiring instructions, 0–5V analog control setup, fuse replacement, troubleshooting, and safety best practices.
⚠️ Important Notes
- Brushed DC Motors Only: This controller works with brushed DC motors only. It is not compatible with AC motors or brushless (BLDC) motors. Brushless motors require a dedicated ESC (Electronic Speed Controller).
- Maximum Voltage: Do not exceed 90V DC input — exceeding this can damage the controller
- Maximum Current: Do not exceed 15A continuous load
- No Reverse Polarity Protection: Connecting the power supply with reversed polarity can permanently damage the controller — always double-check polarity before applying power
- Speed Control Only: This module controls speed only, not direction. To reverse motor direction, you need an external H-bridge or DPDT reversing switch.
- High Voltage Safety: At supply voltages above 50V DC, the system presents a serious shock hazard. Use appropriate safety precautions.
- Heat Management: At high currents near 15A, ensure adequate airflow around the module
