This compact, IP68 waterproof DC-DC step-down converter takes an 8–36V DC input (nominally 12V or 24V) and delivers a clean, regulated 5V DC output at up to 3A (15W maximum) through a USB-C connector. Charge and power USB-C devices — phones, dash cams, GPS units, Raspberry Pi boards, and more — directly from a 12V or 24V battery, vehicle system, or solar setup.
Built with synchronous rectification technology for 85.4% typical efficiency, this converter is fully epoxy-sealed for use in the harshest environments — vehicles, boats, outdoor installations, and industrial equipment where space is limited but performance can't be compromised.
⚠️ Important: This module outputs 5V only and does not include a USB Power Delivery (PD) negotiation chip. It charges devices that accept standard 5V USB power. Devices that require PD negotiation (such as USB-C laptops) will not charge from this module, and some PD-capable devices may default to a slower USB baseline current. 🔌 USB-C Compatibility
This module provides 5V power only through its USB-C connector. It does not include a USB Power Delivery (PD) negotiation chip. Here's what that means for your devices:
Works great with: most smartphones (Android and iPhone, standard 5V charging speed), dash cams, GPS units, action cameras (GoPro, etc.), Raspberry Pi 4 and Arduino boards, and simple USB-C LED lights, fans, and accessories.
Limited compatibility: tablets (iPad, Samsung Tab) may charge slowly, defaulting to USB baseline current without PD negotiation; Qualcomm Quick Charge devices will fall back to standard 5V charging rather than fast-charge speeds; the Nintendo Switch handheld may charge very slowly at baseline current.
Not compatible with: USB-C laptops and the Nintendo Switch dock, which require PD negotiation at higher voltages (typically 15–20V) to begin charging at all.
💡 Tip: If your device charges fine from a standard USB port on a computer, it will work great with this module. If your device's charger uses PD or Quick Charge at 9V or higher, this module will either charge it slowly or not at all.

🔌 Wiring & Connections
The input side uses bare wire leads. The output side is a ready-to-use USB-C cable — no wiring required.

Simply plug your USB-C cable into the output connector to power or charge your device. Input wire gauge is 22 AWG. For wire runs longer than 50cm, use a thicker gauge to minimize voltage drop — generally, place the longer run on the input (higher voltage) side.
⚠️ Important: Double-check input polarity before powering up. Reversing the input wires can damage the converter. We recommend an inline fuse on the positive input wire in addition to the module's built-in fuse.
⚠️ Important Notes
Your input power source must be able to supply at least as much power as your load will draw from the output, divided by the converter's efficiency (~85.4%). At full rated output (15W), that means at least ~17.6W available from your input source. If the input source can't keep up, the output voltage will fold back (sag) rather than deliver the full 5V. The module body is IP68 waterproof, but the USB-C connector itself is not waterproof when exposed — protect the connection point in wet environments.
