⚠️ Do not connect L− and R− together. The PAM8610 uses a bridge-tied load (BTL) output — neither speaker terminal is at ground potential. Connecting the negative terminals together will short the output and destroy the IC.

💡 Tips
- Attach the heat sink before first use. The self-adhesive heat sink ships loose in the bag. Peel the backing and press it firmly onto the PAM8610 IC. Skipping this step will cause thermal shutdown at moderate volumes.
- Use a regulated power supply. A clean, regulated 12V / 2A supply will give you the best audio quality. Unregulated or noisy adapters can introduce hum and hiss into the output.
- Turn volume down before power cycling. Starting and stopping with the volume at minimum protects your speakers and reduces any residual switching noise.
- Screw terminal tips. If the terminal screws feel stiff, use a small flat-head screwdriver. Alternatively, strip back the wire insulation a bit further and solder the speaker leads to the pads on the underside of the board for a more permanent connection.
- Volume pot sensitivity. The usable range is concentrated in the lower half of the knob's travel. For smoother low-volume control, consider a 10kΩ inline attenuator or a pre-amp volume control upstream of this module.
- 8Ω speakers are ideal. 4Ω speakers work but generate more heat and reduce headroom. Avoid anything below 4Ω.
⚠️ Important Notes
- Connect speakers before applying power. Running the amplifier without a speaker load connected can damage the output stage.
- Never bridge the speaker negative terminals. Do not connect L− and R− together under any circumstances.
- Attach the heat sink before use. Required for safe operation above low volume levels.
- Observe power supply polarity. The center pin of the barrel connector is positive. Reversed polarity will damage the module.
- Disconnect power before rewiring. Always remove DC power before making any changes to speaker or switch connections.
- Intended for DIY and hobbyist use. This module is not rated for critical, commercial, or life-safety applications.

Vert neat module large enough to fit in an cabinet. Will make a good amplifier for testing radio's. Will give it a 5...
Good quality board, amp works well.
Nice little amp. I used it to make powered speakers from a couple of old speakers that I had. Works good. I thought it was kind of strange that I had to install the chip heatsink myself. Someone could throw away the bag and not even see the small heatsink.
This is a convenient little amp for driving two small speakers. It's about as loud as an LM386, but it doesn't need supporting components to clean it up and remove noise. There is no need for coupling caps to drive the speakers. Just connect the speakers and power, and you're set up. The downsides: 1. The screws in the screw terminal blocks don't turn, at least not with light force. I stopped applying torque because I was afraid that forcing them would break the block. This is easy enough to deal with by simply soldering the speaker wires to the underside of the board, so it's not a problem for me. 2. It doesn't sound like 10 watts. Maybe this is just a characteristic of the class D design, but I found it to be no louder than an LM386. Not a problem if you're just building desktop speakers for your computer, but not for high volume. All in all, a good cheap amp for certain applications, but you'll have to use something beefier if you want more volume. Read full review
