Looking for a multimeter that's small enough to carry everywhere but still capable enough for everyday electronics, home repair, and light manufacturing work? The Victor VC830L Digital Multimeter measures DC and AC voltage, DC current, and resistance, with diode testing and audible continuity testing built in — all in a compact, pocket-sized body.

At just 138 × 72 × 35mm and about 150g including the battery, the VC830L is noticeably smaller and lighter than our BEST DT-9205M multimeter — roughly 42% less footprint. It's easy to tuck into a tool pouch, toolbox side pocket, or glovebox for quick checks wherever you're working, and it's rated CAT III 600V for extra peace of mind on household and light commercial circuits.

This multimeter ships complete with a 9V battery included, so it's ready to use right out of the box — no separate battery purchase needed.

⚠️ Safety note: This meter is rated CAT III 600V, suitable for many household and light commercial circuits. It is not intended for CAT IV environments (utility service entrances) or high-energy industrial equipment.

⭐ Key Features

  • Compact and lightweight: 138 × 72 × 35mm and ~150g — smaller and lighter than our BEST DT-9205M, and easy to carry in a tool pouch or toolbox.
  • CAT III 600V rated: A higher safety category than typical low-cost multimeters.
  • All-in-one measurement: DC/AC voltage, DC current, and resistance in a single handheld meter.
  • Diode test: Checks forward voltage drop and diode orientation.
  • Audible continuity test: Quickly verify wires, fuses, and connections without reading exact resistance values.
  • Dual fused current jacks: Both the mA jack (0.2A/250V) and the 10A jack (10A/250V) are fuse-protected.
  • 9V battery included: Ready to use out of the box.

📏 Compact by Design

Spec Victor VC830L BEST DT-9205M
Dimensions 138 × 72 × 35 mm (5.43 x 2.83 x 1.38 inches) 189 × 91 × 31.5 mm (7.44 x 3.58 x 1.24 inches)
Weight ~150g (with battery) ~280g
Safety Rating CAT III 600V Not CAT-rated (Category II typical)

The VC830L's smaller footprint and lighter weight make it a great choice when portability matters — for a tool bag, glovebox, or field service kit.

📦 What's in the Box

  • 1 × Victor VC830L Digital Multimeter
  • 1 × Set of test leads (red and black)
  • 1 × 9V battery (included, ready to use)

🔧 How to Use

  1. Connect the test leads: black lead to COM, red lead to mAVΩ for voltage/resistance/continuity/diode, or to the 10A jack for higher current measurements.
  2. Turn the dial to the function and range you need. When unsure of the value, start on the highest range and work down.
  3. Read the display. A "1" on the far left means over range — select a higher range.
