very good product.
I used this for a hard wire dash cam on 2 of my vehicles. Haven’t had an issue and it’s been almost a year. Provides enough power for the camera. They’re built well and great for the price.
I hadn’t realized 12v wasn’t useable by a mini USB powered device. I wanted to hard wire the dash cam into my vehicle instead of using the cigarette lighter plug. I wired it to 12v at the car’s fuse box but then the camera wouldn’t turn on. Only then did I learn USB uses 5v. This DC/DC converter takes your 12v supply and outputs 5v, exactly what the camera is looking for. Great product, works perfectly.
I got this little guy for to run a 5V Netgear unmanaged switch from a 12V source. It does its job, is sealed more or less, protected from moisture. So far it has worked great. The switch draws up to 700mA from the 5V output. A small piece of double-stick tape holds it on the scope mount.
Worked as intended. Wire ends came stripped and tinned. That really sped up the installation process.
I used this to hardwire a USB-powered dash cam versus using the cigarette lighter port and USB block. Works perfect.
Converts 12 VAC to 5 VDC, but has an annoying flicker.
Put a network box on the boat
For my application it worked great.
Very easy to install and quite light and easy to mount. The only caveat was that there were no instructions, but other than that the item works as intended.
Easy to install, works as described
Power Converter works well. Used for a college engineering project (projectile turret) to get a 5V line from the 12V line to power our micro and servos. Measuring on the scope there is little to no voltage ripple on the output even with dynamic loads due to motor/servo switching on an off. Tested up to 1.2A and worked great. Little bit on the pricier side, but is nice to just buy it and forget instead of trying to spec an inductor, build a control circuit and buck converter manually, quick and dirty plug and play solution great for prototyping.
I have been told and shown of some cheaper ways to install auto accessories but I didn't want electrical noise, ect. This is powering my drive camera in my Rubicon, well, one of them. So far so good. Freed up a usb port and made for clean hidden wiring.
I'm using this to power a USB hub from a 12 VDC battery for a remote telescope application and things are working very well.
I really like it, I just need it 5V in my RV, and it works perfect so far
I have a 12 volt power supply doing some home automation stuff and I wanted to power a wall mounted Amazon Fire tablet using the same power supply. This worked perfectly, I spliced the output of this into a hacked up USB cord and I've had no issues with it in the couple months I've owned it
I wired I. A Bluetooth receiver on a boat. I needed 5vdc and this was the solution. Unfortunately it has an audible whistle in the speakers that makes it useless.
nice product
