📋 Overview
This PL-259 UHF male plug to F female RF adapter lets you connect an SO-239 (UHF female) jack to an F-type male plug or coax cable end. It's a straight barrel-style adapter with a UHF male plug on one end and an F female jack on the other, so it joins two connectors that would otherwise never mate.
F-type connectors are the standard for video and television coax, so this adapter is a handy fit for TV antenna, satellite, cable, broadband and security camera setups where UHF-style gear needs to connect to F-type cabling.
⭐ Key Features & Benefits
- UHF Male to F Female — PL-259 (UHF male) plug on one end and F female jack on the other, so it connects an SO-239 female jack to an F male plug
- Bridges Two Connector Families — Lets UHF-style equipment and cabling work with the F-type coax used for TV, satellite, cable and video
- Compact Straight Barrel Design — Approximately 34.8 mm (1.37 inches) long, so it adds very little length to your cable run
- Threaded Connections — Both ends screw together for a secure fit that won't pop off, unlike push-on or bayonet styles
- Simple, Tool-Free Installation — Hand-tighten onto your connectors; no soldering, crimping or special tools required

- Equipment with a threaded F-type male connector that needs to connect to UHF (SO-239) equipment or cabling
- TV, satellite, cable and security camera coax runs that use F-type connectors
🎯 Common Applications
- Video Signal Transmission — Join coax cables and equipment in analog and digital video setups that use F-type connectors
- Cable & Satellite TV — Adapt connections to the F-type coax used by cable TV and satellite TV systems
- Over-the-Air TV Antennas — Connect to the F-type coax used by terrestrial digital TV antennas and receivers
- Cable Modems & Broadband Internet — F-type coax is also used for broadband internet connections
- Security & CCTV Cameras — Adapt cabling for camera systems that use F-type connectors on RG59 coax
🚀 Getting Started
Using the adapter takes about a minute and needs no tools:
- Confirm that your connectors are an SO-239 (UHF) female jack and an F male plug.
- Thread the PL-259 end of the adapter onto the SO-239 jack until it is snug.
- Thread the F male plug onto the F female end of the adapter.
- Tighten both connections by hand. Don't use pliers on the coupling nuts, which can damage the plating and threads.
💡 Tip: This adapter joins connectors but does not convert impedance. F-type video and TV equipment is typically 75 Ohm, while UHF-style radio equipment is typically 50 Ohm. Check the impedance of your equipment and cabling before connecting them.
