💡 Tips
Always use a current-limiting resistor with this LED — running it directly off a supply voltage above 2.6V without one can burn it out almost instantly. Since this yellow LED has a lower forward voltage than white, blue, or green LEDs, double-check your resistor calculation if you're mixing it into a string with other colors. For a typical 5V supply, a 150–180Ω resistor works well at 20mA.
Want to skip the resistor math entirely? Check out our 20mA LED Driver. It eliminates the need for current-limiting resistors and lets you drive a single LED or a series string of LEDs at various drive voltages.
